Zomato Crisis - (Trusting Delivery Boy Paradox)

Problem:  Online food portal faced criticism for vitiating the food parcel. 
Recently, a delivery boy was assigned to hand over the food parcel to the customer. During his commute, he was stranded due to the tempting aroma of the cuisine and indulged in some of the food from the parcel. His treasonous act against his moral duties and responsibilities was uploaded on the internet went viral.

Possible Solutions:

• 1) Black Magic Box-

           The company can upgrade their delivery boxes with a digital lock that can be opened only by a random generated OTP. The customer who will receive the OTP when food is locked inside the box by the supplier. Only the customer will know about the OTP so nobody else can open the box.

IOT community can work on such boxes to ensure the delivery for the other enterprises.

Even these hi-tech boxes can be perfected to track 

-The route followed (GPS enabled chip), 

-The temperature of the food on time of delivery

-The picture of the person opening the box(spy camera)
Future possibilities are endless. 

• 2) Instill moral responsibility in employees

            The company can impart a session to instill morals in the employees.

• 3) A tampered proof seal-

            The cheapest solution would be to introduce a packing system where the seal on the parcel once broken cannot be put back in the initial original shape, thereby indicating malpractices.

Map all the possible routes and intersection points(nodes)

Considering that each route between two nodes is a road. Create a array of roads.

Case 1: no node in between, straight road

New rule for controlling pollution in Delhi will be imposed soon.
Will it create chaos? Will it be feasible for us to reach our destinations on time using public transport? Will it be safe for female?
What if my car is nonpolluting( runs on CNG or Electricity)?
What for me if I am already carpooling?
Will I be fined for just driving to my friend home for car pooling?

Other things we can do meanwhile:

Proper garbage collection units-
One of the another cause of pollution is waste and garbage,which is spread all across the city
If we implement a proper method for collecting garbage, it may result in more clean and green city.
Let go deep down to the basic level, i.e. home.
We can organise the waste into the groups.
Organic waste that can be recycled or reused.
Govt and NGOs can collect these items and reuse them.
If we give reward points to people for every transaction they do, it will increase the participation.

Collecting food: "Lets plan no one sleeps hungry"
Suppose if there is some extra food people want to give out. They may call or visit the collection centre in their area and submit their food.
Which further can be distributed, depending on its condition, to the some needy or poor or to the cattle.

There are already various programs running in the country like feedindia, Bhookh, indiafoodbanking.
This system if created will successfully allow the country to handle even bigger natural calamities.
If food collected is not consumable, then it can be recycled to create organic manure and fertilisers. These fertilisers can be used in local parks, gardens, or even in bigger farms for cultivation.

Collecting Metals and Electronic waste:
If we start a plan to collect the metal waste directly from the homes and pay the seller accordingly. This can lead to proper waste management.

We can use some reward point scheme(like giving subsidy) to encourage people for recycling, connecting them using their UDID. Govt. should imposed strict rules and penalties for people not adopting these rules.

Delivered Happily - Redefining the goods delivery system, with a selfie or by uploading a picture.

"Goods received are Good?" 

In todays e-shop world, there are various issues arising with delivery of the goods.
Sometime its cunning sellers and often deceptive customer plays with e-retail system.
There are various news regarding these matters.

"Did seller cheated Or customer was a liar?" - A big never ending fight

Lets introduce a feature to ensure the delivery of right product.

There is a commonly known feature of "Cash On Delivery" (COD)

In which consumer pays the money, to delivery boy, on receiving the good at his/her address.

Like, COD we can let the delivery boy carry a mobile/camera to click the picture of the good, to ensure the condition of the good.

It will help to ensure customer with right product he ordered.

Similarly, At the time of packing at the seller side, pick-up boy can ensure the good collected before packing.

Its needs only two pictures/video of the product, to ensure correct delivery, (along with correct delivery). On successful delivery information can be deleted (to save server charges :P).

Some known challenges - Nothing is full proof, Nothing called as a prefect crime!!

Storing videos or picture on server need extra effort and cost.
Delivery boy or pick boy should be faithful to the company(bribing is so common).

If at time of delivery the customer is not present to verify, things can be altered. (Selfies are more reliable)
